After a century of land disputes, the people of Jemna reclaimed their land during the “Jasmine Revoluton” of 2010-2011 and the Association was established.
It is an example of grass-roots mobilization and cooperative economics.

It is illegitimate in the eyes of the State as it challenges Tunisia’s decades long neo-liberal turn. It threatens the State’s claims to be able to provide for its citizens.
